YouTube briefly terminated a popular live stream channel, creating one of the longest videos ever

Most people know ChilledCow’s popular LoFi hip-hop channel as the constant live stream starring an anime girl doing her homework. Over the weekend, following a mistaken suspension from YouTube, the account was terminated, and the live stream came to an end. As a result, ChilledCow produced one of the longest videos in YouTube history — more than 13,000 hours — and amassed 218 million views in the process.

Less than a day after ChilledCow owner Dimitri received the notification from YouTube that his channel violated the company’s terms of service and was suspended, the violation was lifted. Dimitri started a new live stream, and the original live stream appeared as a non-playable video. Clicking on it brings up a message saying the…

Huawei’s new MateBook X Pro comes in green color option and Intel’s latest chips

Huawei is updating its MateBook X Pro this year with a new green color option and Intel’s 10th Gen processors. The design is identical to last year, with a 13.9-inch, 450 nit, edge-to-edge 3000 x 2000 pixel touchscreen; fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button; and 2.93-pound weight. It also still includes the pop-up webcam that’s built into the keyboard.

New for this year’s model are Intel’s 10th Gen processors, with options up to the Core i7, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. The Core i7 version will also include Nvidia’s MX250 discrete graphics. The one USB-A and two USB-C ports remain from last year, too. Huawei is also offering a new green color option for the MateBook X Pro this year, alongside the silver and gray options.

Huawei announces the Mate XS foldable with a more durable display and faster processor

One year after it announced its debut Mate X foldable, Huawei is back with a successor, the Mate XS. Although, externally, the device looks very similar to the original, Huawei says it’s got a more durable display and features a redesigned hinge. It also features a faster processor, the Kirin 990. Unfortunately, due to Huawei’s continued presence on the US’s entity list, the device won’t release with any Google apps or services, meaning it won’t come with access to the Google Play Store.

This time around, Huawei says it’s using a “quad-layer” construction for the screen on the Mate XS, which it says should make it more robust. Up top are two layers of polyamide film, which were stuck together using clear adhesive. Below that is the…

Huawei made a 5G iPad Pro clone with wireless charging

Huawei’s new MatePad Pro 5G is a 5G version of the 10.8-inch tablet it announced last year for the Chinese market. When combined with its keyboard case and M-Pencil, the tablet invites some obvious comparisons to Apple’s iPad Pro, but Huawei’s tablet has a couple of unique features up its sleeve. These include two-way wireless changing, the ability to mirror the screen of a paired smartphone, and the aforementioned 5G connectivity. The tablet will ship with open-source Android, without Google’s apps or services.

Huawei says the MatePad Pro is the first tablet to support wireless charging. When you’re charging the device, it can charge at speeds of up to 27W, and it can then reverse-charge devices at up to 7.5W. It can use this capability…
